The community over at FriendFeed is very large, but there are several key users that stand out above the rest. One of those is Steven Perez. During a live recording of the podcast FFundercats, Mark Wilson, one of the hosts, coined the phrase due to a distraction that Steven was trying to provide. It spread among the community, at Steven’s request himself, and people lovingly began to use the phrase to blame Steven for anything that went wrong (if there was no one else to blame.)
For his birthday, I came up with the idea of getting several FriendFeed users to submit their own video of them proclaiming “Damn You Steven Perez!” to edit together in one long tribute birthday for his birthday.
The result is the video above, after 3 days of submissions, editing together and adding music. Published on noon of his birthday.
